  1. Q:Is this tread one piece or many glued together? How do you figure out the return side of the tread? Can I get a sample tread?
    A:If you are standing at the bottom of your staircase looking up, if the right side has NO wall, then it is a right return. If the left side has NO wall, it is a left return. The treads have staves. These staves prevent cupping and warping of the tread. Treads with out staves are made poorly. We have never had a problem with these staves breaking, since they are factory made tough. You can order a tread as a sample, of course!

  2. Q:Is this 42in including the return, or just the tread itself? How wide is the return?
