A:Santos Mahogany is one of the more expensive wood species and the cost listed is the cost per tread. These treads are prefinished with our UV cured clear coat containing Aluminum Oxide. We know of several customers who have used the treads for bookshelves, wall caps, mantles, benches, furniture, and other projects where they prefer a beautiful exotic wood. There are many other great uses for these treads besides just the stairs.
