A:All our treads are made as edge-glued panels and will have staves. Edge-glued treads are industry standard and is by design. This keeps the tread from warping like an exterior deck (which is 1 piece) after it's installed. We do not use any thin veneers, plywood, plastic/vinyl core, or other inferior products that have started to be found in the marketplace from other vendors and big box stores.
