The Red Oak Butterscotch (D34) Retro Riser 42 in is the matched-wood companion to Red Oak Butterscotch (D34) retro treads — prefinished in the same warm amber-honey D34 stain for a fully consistent staircase. Installs over your existing riser with adhesive and a brad nailer, no removal needed.

Butterscotch D34 is the current formulation replacing the discontinued E33 Legacy Stain — a warm orange-honey mid-tone that pairs naturally with medium-tone hardwood floors, beige and cream walls, and transitional interiors. If your retro treads are Butterscotch D34, this is the riser that completes the set.

INSTALLATION NOTE

Lightly sand the back face for adhesion. Apply Loctite PL Premium adhesive in S-curves. Press over existing riser. Secure with a brad nailer at 6-inch intervals. No finishing required. Caulk riser-tread joint.

STAIN / FINISH TIP

Prefinished — ready to install. Pair with Red Oak Butterscotch (D34) Retro Treads for a fully matched staircase.     A:D34 is the current Butterscotch formulation replacing the discontinued E33 Legacy Stain. D34 is visually very similar — a warm amber-honey tone. If you have older E33 treads, D34 is the closest available match for new risers. Order a sample pack to compare if color consistency is critical.

    A:Technically yes, but the best result comes from matching riser and tread stain. Butterscotch D34 is a warm amber-honey — it pairs well with Natural or Golden Oak treads for a tonal warm effect, or contrast with Smoke or Dusk treads for a warm-cool mix. Matching is the most professional result.
